South Side Serenade

This funky acoustic rock band based out of Tampa, FL. Has a true a one of a kind sound. Breaking into the scene early of 2008, their music spread like wildfire and dominated the local music scene of their hometown.  In only under one short year of being a band, Southside Serenade has won many major battles of the bands held by organizations including FOX News, Sam Ash, and The State Theatre. The band has shared the stage with some of the biggest national acts in the U.S. and performed in front of thousands with their punch packed live shows. The bands catchy melodic styles come from a deeply rooted fusion of genres including funk, southern rock, acoustic and blues. This tight nitched four piece band does it all… From screaming guitar leads to soft heartfelt ballads. FACTS about the band…


1. Southside Serenade currently has 3 songs from their full-length album played in one of the largest line dancing venues in America, The Dallas Bull with an average attendance of 20,000 visitors per month and growing.


2. Southside Serenade has won a Major battle of the bands , Held by FOX News…The band won first place out of 20 bands and shared the stage with Platinum selling recording artist Edwin McCain @ The House of Blues, Orlando. (Within the first 6 months of being a band)


3. We also won another major battle of the bands located at The State Theatre, We won 1st place out of 30 bands. This competition was held in front of a panel of 12 judges which were all from major companies such as Sam Ash, Geffen, Fueled By Ramen, Major Label Scouts.com , Rising Sun Music, The Dallas Bull, and more. We received a guitar , free recording time, band stickers as well as guitar accessories.


4. The band was also chosen from a large national database of groups to perform at the Florida Music Festival in 08′


5. Southside Serenade outsold the National Act “Parachute” the night they played together at the House Of Blues, in Orlando Florida by over 250 tickets.  Parachute is currently signed to Island/Def Jam/Mercury Records and reached the top of the charts on iTunes and had a #1 Video on a VH1 Countdown.  THEY SOLD 38 TICKETS THE NIGHT WE OPENED FOR THEM.


6. The band was requested to play a private show with Sister Hazel, for One Voice Foundation. Tickets were starting at $100 at the door and Vip tickets were $1,000 a piece for tables. The event was located @ Whisky Park North in Tampa, Fl.


7. Band is currently played on 97x Sunday nights.


8.The band played with National recording artist Jake Owen, The show was sold-out…Which was also the largest show held to date at the venue The Dallas Bull, With cars lined up for a mile outside the venue. Our band was aired live on the radio station WQYK and we rocked the house in front of over 2,100 people.


9. The band is currently working with Alexis Rooks to further diversify and distinguish their ever-evolving sound.  She is a very well seasoned Violinist and Vocalist, giving our music unlimited capabilities.  The melodic tones of the violin add a new dimension to the songs and whether it is a captivating ballad or southern get-down, she fits into the mix perfectly only adding more marketability to our already catchy sound.


10.  Last but not least, the band has had the amazing opportunity to personal sit down with music label mogul Kim Stephens.  He is the current CEO of Capitol Records Nashville and has been in the music industry for over 20 years.  His experience has led him to work with artists from The Who, Led Zeppelin, Stone Temple Pilots and more.  He is responsible for signing Matchbox 20, Hootie and The Blowfish, Shinedown, Edwin McCain, and currently manages bands including Sick Puppies and Saving Abel.  He personally flew down to Tampa, ate dinner with us, and sat at our Rehearsal for 2 1/2 Hours as we played him songs we’ve written and new ones that we’ve been working on.  We are currently still in touch with him and he will be flying down for our next major show that we play.
